Grads on tour 😎 🇩🇪🏨 💻 Two of our Data, Digital and Tech grads, Beverley and Karishma, recently spent a month with our German Support Centre Team, understanding how our IT team operates there. During the month, they got to: 🏨 Visit 10 of our German hotels, chatting to the teams and managers 🇩🇪 Explore various parts of Germany, including Frankfurt, Hannover and Köln 🙌 Gain lots of hands‑on experience, not only with our teams, but with our suppliers too. From supporting incident ticket responses, to engineering WiFi solutions and connecting fibre‑optic cables Mark Smith, our Chief Technology Officer says, “When we designed our graduate programme, it was important to us that our grads had the chance to immerse themselves in our Germany operation. Their time there allowed them to experience a different culture, understand the scale of our operations compared to the UK, and build meaningful connections across the organisation, all of which I believe are central to what makes our programme so valuable.” Reflecting on the month, Karishma said: “The month I spent in Germany has been one of the most valuable experiences of my career journey so far. It strengthened my technical understanding, broadened my operational awareness and gave me insights I’m excited to bring back to the UK.” We’re so pleased to see our grads thriving in their roles, and we can’t wait to see what they get up to over the rest of their time on the scheme 🤩 #Whitbread #GraduateScheme #GradScheme #PremierInn
“I’ve never seen a Religious Leave Policy THIS good!” 🙌 Mush joined us two years ago as a Data Protection Specialist in our Legal team under the General Counsel, and he’s spent the last month observing Ramadan - the 3rd he’s observed whilst working with us. Here’s what he shared about his experience👇 “The support I’ve had at Whitbread has been amazing! It’s never been a problem asking my manager for any flexibility, and the support from my peers ( especially when asking about things like prayer rooms ) was incredibly helpful. When I first joined Whitbread two years ago, it was actually during Ramadan. Before I’d even had my first day in the building, my manager went above and beyond to support me, allowing flexible working for prayer times and fasting. On top of the support offered from my colleagues and Manager, the Religious Leave Policy on offer at Whitbread has been a great benefit. It allowed me to work on Christmas and Boxing Day and swap them for days that meant more to me.
